Gift Ideas: Make a Gift Basket

Receiving a gift basket is most enjoyable. However making your own, whether for business or personal enjoyment is highly satisfying. All your creativity is engaged. Any craft skills that you have learnt over the years can now be employed. In saying that it can be a rather scary task to lots of people who are unsure how to start. Don't panic, it needn't be all that difficult.  Some choices you can have include a wine gift basket and chocolate gift baskets.

The first thing you must do before doing anything else is to decide a theme for your gift basket. There really aren't any strict rules on what theme this can be. If the person you are buying for enjoys reading then this will give you a clue. An amazing gift basket will perhaps be a gift basket full of books and accessories such as a book light. Add a piece of chocolate to hold them through their period of relaxation. Or perhaps the person your are gifting the basket to enjoys playing a game of chess... You could include a mini chess set for traveling and perhaps some books on how to improve their game.

Now it's time to think of the design. It might be that you would like to make a sketch of it of you might just think of the design in your mind. Make a list of materials, sizes and tools. Then, go buying. This can be a lot of fun and it needn't be a chore.

You'll need a basket, of course. That can be anything that will hold the items - a traditional wicker container, an antique coffee can, an ancient toy bucket or a contemporary planter. If possible you would purchase something that will fit into the theme of your gifts.

OK, so you've chosen the gifts and the basket, now you'll want to wrap it all up. Cellophane is one great choice. Waxpaper works well, too, because it's flexible and teases the recipient. They can see enough to be intrigued, but can't clearly make out what the gifts are.
