Best Shoes For The Winter

We no longer have the need to expose our feet, in flip flops and sandals, to the fresh air and sun - because summer is at the end and winter is here. Winter brings with it socks, slippers and perpetual ice blocks at the ends of your legs. Your pins will still look stylish because the winter will bring int the new fashions when it comes to shoes we wear.

Winter 2008 looks to be an eclectic season with ballerina flats, animal prints, and boots, particularly equestrian and biker boots in vogue. Round toes are a quality of ballerina flats, and you can find them in all sorts of materials and different colors. And these animal prints, that come in velvet and metallics, are a big sellers this year. Vamp and ankle ties heel is another choice, as oposed to typical flat shoes we wear.

The shiny patent look is in fashion, so are the red color and Mary Jane's. A sandals or a shoe with low heel and a rounded toes with a buckle strap across the instep and ankle is usually called by the well known term Mary Jane. They used to be made primarily of black patent leather. These days they come in all colours and all materials including suede and canvas. Mary Jane's were also primarily known as little girl's shoes, and only occasionally as shoes for little boys. Nowadays these are great shoes for grown women too, but we must say that they should not be considered formal.

The Mary Jane's of today have higher heels and platform soles, which makes them a bit different. Punk rockers and Goths adopted the shoes in particular, although some others would vamp up the "Lolita" look and wear them with high knit socks and a very short paid, pleated schoolgirl skirt.

Another trend this winter is the peep-toe shoe. It sounds a little crazy because you would assume that your feet would freeze, but we are assured by people in the know that they are no colder than wearing regular pumps.

I hope that you have more ideas now and see all the options you have when it come to shoes for winter. Choose what fits your style best and you will be ready for the cold winter days.
