Buying Bridesmaid Shoes

Have you ever considered whether or not the shoes that a bridesmaid wears should all match? This is not a decision you are going to find easy If you are lost on the subject then don't worry, here's a thought: allow your dress theme be your inspiration.  Bridal shoes are very important and shouldn't be overlooked.

Everyone's wedding gown will be completely unique. It won't match what the bridesmaids are wearing. The bride is always the focus of everyone at the wedding therefore the dress will be suitable designed. But bridesmaids dresses need not exactly match one another these days, either.

Your overall 'look' should be consistent.  One good choice is to have a design that is overall similar, but different in small touches.  Now add individual touches, a blue ribbon accent for one, pink for another.

You may be wondering why this article in largely about dresses when it's supposed to be about shoesYou will understand better if you continue reading.

For instance when deciding on the fabric of the shoes you don't have to buy them to match the dresses completely. But they should not stick out either. Subtle contrast is good.

When it comes to the material then satin works very well for shoes. Many bridal shoe designs are available only in satin, anyway.  It may well be that you decide to go for satin shoes for the bride but crepe shoes for the bridesmaids.

Now consider color.

Bear in mind that there are shoes that can be dyed to whatever colour you wish. Found just the design you like, but the color is wrong?

You might want, say, a bold green for the bridal shoes. This can look very striking under a white wedding dress. Now use the same color, but go a shade or two lighter for the bridesmaids' shoes. The same, but different. The focus remains on you, but the bridesmaids are coordinated.

Now that you have decided what you are buying for bridal and bridesmaid shoes, remember that the groomsmen has to wear a pair of shoes too:  Groomsmen Shoes
